MAN you’re getting OLD!!!

On your 19th birthday let me just point out 19 things I love about you:

1. That you’re turning into a fine young man.
2. The time I get with you driving to Chicago.
3. And eating Giordano’s pizza before I go.
4. You laugh at my jokes, even if they’re not funny (even though I’m pretty sure they’re ALL funny)
5. Listening to you play the piano makes me smile.
6. The confidence you’re developing in yourself.
7. Reading your writing, you’re very talented.
8. We both like McDonalds bacon, egg, and cheese bagel meals. But, I’m telling you, you should try the steak one just once.
9. Getting an occasional hug.
10. When we play entertainment trivia games together and I actually get an answer before you . . . hey . . . it happened once!
11. Talking about all the possibilities in your future.
12. Having you home for the weekend, even if we don’t get a lot of time together, just having you there and hearing your voice is great.
13. How you can keep your room so organized and, at the same time, make it look like a tornado AND a landslide hit at the same time. That’s a great trick.
14. That you’re 19.
15. That you’ll be getting a summer job.
16. And love music so much (at least certain kinds).
17. The gift of candy wrappers that you’ve left in every car I’ve owned since you were born.
18. Your smile!
19. That you’re MY son.
